On Fresno Pacific University's main campus, the AIMS Hall of Mathematics and Science is home to the San Joaquin Valley's only Foucault Pendulum. One of four in the state of California, the pendulum has a 235-pound polished brass ball suspended from the second-story ceiling of AIMS Hall. Throughout the day, the pendulum knocks down a circle of pegs, located on the foyer floor, illustrating the earth's rotation in a harmonious depiction of the ties between math and science. |
