Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

How early should I apply?

A.

By applying early in the fall semester of your senior year, you'll be ahead of the game when it comes to financial aid and scholarship offers in the spring. Apply soon enough to take advantage of any special scholarships and/or financial incentives, and be sure to research advantages and disadvantages of early decision plans. Some schools have deadlines as early as Nov. 1.

Q.

How many schools should I apply to?

A.

Apply to our top five college choices so you have some options when it comes time to choose a school. A general rule is to apply to at least two schools, but avoid more than five. Remember that applications time a lot of time and can be expensive, but that it's important to have some options.

Q.

When will I know if I'm accepted?

A.

Each college handles applications differently. Some will accept all applicants who reach a certain standard until enrollments are full. This is a yes or no, one-time evaluation. Others accept only the best applications throughout the year on a rolling basis until enrollments are full in the spring. This means your application could be evaluated several times. Most colleges have full enrollments by early spring.
